We are currently seeking a skilled Industrial Painter to join our Metal Fabrication Shop team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain painting equipment in a fabrication shop environment
  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, stripping, and masking metal components
  • Select and apply paints (enamel, epoxy, urethane, etc.) using spray guns, rollers, and automated equipment
  • Understand and follow product Technical Data Sheets (TDS) and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
  • Paint a range of product sizes, from small parts to oversized fabrications
  • Inspect painted surfaces for coverage, thickness, and adhesion
  • Maintain inventory of paints and supplies and manage reordering
  • Apply decals and client-specific markings
  • Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment safely
  • Work closely with fabrication, operations, quality, and other departments
  • Complete touch-ups, final inspections, and quality documentation
  • Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and TCE Quality System policies

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma (required); post-secondary technical training is an asset
  • 3–5 years of industrial painting experience (structural steel preferred)
  • Experience with electrostatic paint equipment (required)
  • Familiarity with welding and metal types (steel, aluminum, stainless) an asset
  • Competent with hand and power tools
  • Valid forklift and crane operation certification, or willingness to obtain
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a team-first attitude
  • Safety-minded and committed to maintaining a clean, organized work environment
