We are currently seeking a skilled Industrial Painter to join our Metal Fabrication Shop team.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain painting equipment in a fabrication shop environment
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, stripping, and masking metal components
- Select and apply paints (enamel, epoxy, urethane, etc.) using spray guns, rollers, and automated equipment
- Understand and follow product Technical Data Sheets (TDS) and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
- Paint a range of product sizes, from small parts to oversized fabrications
- Inspect painted surfaces for coverage, thickness, and adhesion
- Maintain inventory of paints and supplies and manage reordering
- Apply decals and client-specific markings
- Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment safely
- Work closely with fabrication, operations, quality, and other departments
- Complete touch-ups, final inspections, and quality documentation
- Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and TCE Quality System policies
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma (required); post-secondary technical training is an asset
- 3–5 years of industrial painting experience (structural steel preferred)
- Experience with electrostatic paint equipment (required)
- Familiarity with welding and metal types (steel, aluminum, stainless) an asset
- Competent with hand and power tools
- Valid forklift and crane operation certification, or willingness to obtain
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a team-first attitude
